Guillermo and me were tramping along Brussels streets after participating in the last workshop of the european network of asylum practitioners (Eurasil) when an SMS come to address our attention to our partner Rosa, who was eventually in the same city too providing a service for one of her own projects. She invited us to meet her in the Library of the Monts des Arts, where she was interviewing a few scientist in the "V european space weather week". That Library is a really nice place to visit and, if we add the atractive title of the event, is easily undertandable that we didn't hesitate accepting the invitation.

I've been in touch with the scientific community several times in my life. In fact, I could become a researcher in my early professional career: indeed, I applied for a place in the Artificial Intelligence Master by the Edingurgh University but I was unfortunately discarded and my way turned to other targets. Seen from the outside, the scientific world seems to be populated by freakies, wearing no-matching socks, old t-shirts, thick glasses and a inconceivable vocabulary no suitable for out-of-the-tribe people.

In this event we could watch some posters informing about the works done in universities and research centres about the weather in space, for example, the effect of the solar storms in the callibration of the GPS satellites. It was also one proposal for business from a company who offered a few hours long trip in space for 18.000 euros. I enjoy a lot standing among scientists, they have something that we, the businessmen, have lost: the essence of the contribution of knowledge to all the Mandkind, no matter countries or religions. And more, looking at the drinks and canapes table, it's easy to see that they really know how to take care of themselves.

Constelaciones (y 2) / Constellations (and 2)

The analitic, scientific and tireless mind of Albar does not stop producing new amazing data. Let's remind last september, when I challenged him (I tricked him, would be a better opinion) to find star constellations matching the holes of the wood worms in a trunk lost in the Azkorri forest (see More constellations). He bravely started his task immediately and, not only finished it with his usual bright results (he was able to find 3 constellations!!) but he's also facing a new to-the-edge challenge, suitable for his sharp mind.

Let albar explain by himself:
"Dear German: since a promise is a promise, here I'm sending you the results of my search. Both Scorpio and Leo could be arguable but Ursa Major does really fit. By the way, I'm trying now to go one step further in this interesting activity by finding constellations using the "snow" showed by desync TV sets. Hey man, that's a real challenge 'cause the dots... don't stop moving!!."
