¡¡Dios mío!! Helena ya tiene 11 años. Aquello de que los niños crecen demasiado deprisa es absolutamente cierto. Y todavía más cierto es lo de que, viendo cómo crecen ellos, te das cuenta de cómo envejeces tú.Oh My!! Helena reached 11. All that about the children grow up too fast is completely true. - ¿Qué te gustaría como regalos de cumpleaños? - le pregunté a Helena.- Bah, cualquier cosa, me gustan las sorpresas. - me dijo ella sin mucho convencimiento.
- No, lo que yo te pregunto es: ¿qué te gustaría tener? Algo que NADIE te haya regalado y que te gustaría mucho.- aclaré.
- ¡¡Un reloj de chica grande!! - respondió inmediatamente con los ojos brillantes.
- What would you like as a birthday gift? - I asked her.
- Oh, everything will be fine, I like surprises - she answered with not too much conviction.
- "No, I mean what do you really like? That thing that nobody gave you but you still want a lot - I clarified.
- A big girl watch!! - She answered quick with shining eyes.
Y hale, allá nos fuimos, a buscar un "reloj de chica grande". Al final, después de ver, probar y volver a ver una docena larga de relojes, nos quedamos con este bonito Swacht. Por ver esa carita de felicidad sería capaz de irhasta la mismísima Suiza a comprarle el relojito a mi nena.
So there we went, looking for a "big girl watch". We finally bought this nice Swatch, after seeing, trying and seeing again more than a dozen of watches. I'd be able to walk to the Swiss itself just to see that happy face of my sweetie.

Claro está que con un aita así analfabeta nunca podría ser la nena, pero que conste que Helena es un rato inteligente y que a una bien formulada pregunta ha dado una buenísima respuesta; un regalo que ya NADIE le hará y que siempre recordará:-"Su primer reloj de chica mayor"-.
