Venciendo demonios / Defeating demons

Buf, la entrada de hoy está difícil, ¿cómo comentar una instantánea como ésta sin incurrir en iras ajenas? En fin, hay que arriesgarse, no todo va a ser bonitas estampas de la dolce vita. Luis Carandell nos dejó en su inolvidable libro "Celtiberia Show" una magnífica colección de fotografías de pintadas (el lo llamaba cariñosamente "el museillo celtibérico") en la que creo que tendría cabida ésta.
Uf, todays's post is pretty difficult, how do I manage to comment a snapshot like this one and not offending anyone? Well, let's face the risk, who said this was to be just a dolce vita? Luis Carandel left an unforgettable book for us: "Celtiberia Show" containing an amazing collection of graffitti photograhs (he used to kindly call it "the little celtiberian museum") in which could be this one.

Debido a mi personalidad patológicamente independiente veo muy difícil que alguna vez se me pueda relacionar con algún grupo o tribu así que no puedo hablar con verdadero conocimiento de causa acerca de ninguno de ellos. Ahora bien, los grupos skin head no se han labrado precisamente una buena fama en lo tocante a la tolerancia hacia otros grupos, sobre todo si esos grupos eran más débiles, como los inmigrantes o los vagabundos. Si yo tuviera que elegir forzosamente una tribu a la que pertenecer sin duda sería a la de los hippies, que también ha estado tradicionalmente en el punto de mira de los skins.
Thanks to my fiercely independent personality it's quite unprobable that I ever joined a social group so I cannot talk about them from a first-hand point of view. I haven't any living experience. However, the skin heads are not worldwide famous for being tolerants with other groups, specially if the other groups are weaker, like inmigrants or tramps. More, if I was forced to choose a group to belong to, I'd choose the hippy communitie who has traditionally been in the skin head's target too.

Pero para que no se diga que soy rencoroso voy a ser optimista y voy a creer que lo que dice la pintada es cierto, o al menos sincero. voy a creer que es posible vivir en paz. Voy a creer que realmente nuestros demonios pueden ser vencidos.
But, I'll try to keep my prejudices away and be optimistic; I'm going to believe the graffiti tells the truth and the skin heads are not racists any longer. I'm going to believe it's possible to live in peace. I'm going to believe that our demons can be defeated.
