Descenso del Sella (1) / Sella river descent (1)

Ya hemos realizado por fin la travesía que hemos estado preparando durante las últimas semanas: el VII descenso del Sella a nado. Por supuesto, el que ha nadado ha sido Carlos, mientras que Txutxo, Iñigo y yo hemos actuado como su equipo de asistencia en el agua en nuestras piraguas. El siempre-abnegado-y-nunca-suficientemente-reconocido miembro de apoyo en tierra, o sea Juanjo, no ha podido venir esta vez (según él porque ha empezado a trabajar de nuevo y el esfuerzo le ha dejado baldado, en fin, no hago comentarios).
At last, we've finished the trip, long time prepared during the last weeks: the VII Sella river swimming descent. Of course, the swimer was Carlos, while Txutxo, Iñigo and me acted as the in-water supporting team driving our canoes. The indispensable-but-less-valued in-land supporting member, that is Juanjo, couldn't come this time (he said he was very tired due to he started to work again last week; well, no comments).

Escribiré un reportaje completo esta semana próxima. De momento tendrá que bastar con deciros que ha sido una travesía extraordinariamente dura debido al frío: 8ºC en al agua y -1º C en el ambiente al empezar, calentándose hasta los 15ºC a medida que transcurrió el día. Afortunadamente, pudimos completar los 20 kms de recorrido, desde Arriondas hasta Ribadesella, sin percances de gravedad y llegamos a tiempo de recibir el trofeo que amablemente ha concedido la concejalía de deportes de Ribadesella y al magnífico arroz con bogavante con que nos regalamos el cuerpo después de la prueba.

Just now It'll be enough to tell you it has been a very hard trip because of the cold temperatures: 8ºC in the water and -1ºC in the air at the starting time, warming to 15ºC at midday. fortunately, we could complete the 12 miles whole route, from Arriondas to Ribadesella, having no serious problems or injuries. So we reached the finish line on time to receive the nice trophy given by sports department of Ribadesella council, as well as the fantastic seafood rizotto we had to cellebrate the adventure's end.

Una vez más, he disfrutado de una bonita aventura de la que os pongo unas fotos al azar, pero sobre todo, he disfrutado de la consolidación de la fantástica amistad que me une a este equipo de deportistas. En breve empezaremos a preparar la siguiente aventura que, dado lo avanzado del año, seguramente tendrá al esquí como protagonista.
Once more, I've enjoyed a nice adventure as you can see in these pics, taken at random, but over all, I've enjoyed the growing up of a strong friendship to this sportmen team. We'll soon start to prepare the next travel and I guess, given the dates, it'll be developed in the snow to come in the next days.
